Adsense Is Important For Comfortable Sites

To understand the importance of Adsense to your content site, you must first be familiar with how it works. If you really think about it, the concept is quite easy to comprehend. A java script is inserted into a certain website by the publisher or the webmaster. Each time the page is opened, the java script will access advertisements from the Adsense program. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.

All of the tracking and payments are handled by the search engine, thereby providing a simple way for webmasters to show content-sensitive and targeted advertisements without the administrative headaches of marketing and so forth. For help visit www.freeearningtips.com. It would appear that there is no shortage of advertisers in the program and this allows webmasters to focus on making cash from these search engines.

Because Adsense has already come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters, this is the first reason for having it on your site. It has also continued with updating the appearance of a more advanced system, allowing full customization of the advertisements. Webmasters are given the chance to choose from many different types of text ad formats to better complement their website and fit their webpage layout.

There is also a possibility of more than one click through when the visitor is not aware of what they are actually clicking on. It may also appeal to the people visiting and they may take the next step of finding out more information. This way the people behind the Adsense will get their content read and making profit in the process.

Reason number two is that Adsense publishers can track not only how their sites are progressing but also the earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels. The recent improvements in the search engines gives webmasters the ability to observe how their ads are performing using customizable reports that has the capacity to detail page impressions, for more details visit to www.marketers-traffic-course.com

clicks and click-through rates. Webmasters and publishers can now track specific ad formats, colors and pages within a website. Trends are also easily spotted.

Because of real-time reporting, the efficiency of any alterations can be assessed quickly. It will be apparent what people are making the most clicks on, therefore allowing the webmasters the ability to meet the changing demands while generating cash. Webmasters are also able to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, which will provide them some accurate insight on which pages, ads and domains are performing best.

The third and final reason is that the advertisers have realized the benefits associated having their ads served on targeted websites. This increases the possibility that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their product and services as a result of the content and its constant maintenance. Unlike those who are not using Adsense in their sites, they are given the option of having other people do their content for them, giving them the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites.

Adsense is all about targeted content, the more targeted your content is, the more targeted the search engines’ ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are focused more on their site contents and how best to maintain them rather than the cash that the ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness is working its best.

There was a time when people were not yet aware of the money to be achieved from advertisements. The cash generated only came into existence when the webmasters and publishers realized how they can make Adsense be that generator. In those days, the content was the most important factor and was taken quite seriously. It still is but its importance has increased with the allure of money.

This seriously affects people who are working in Internet marketing. A great amount of businesses have popped up that offer bloggers all sorts of gimmicks to increase popularity. The more links that you exchange and receive, the more people will link to your blog. As a result, you will enjoy a huge increase in traffic. The more links you have, the higher search engines will rank your blog. So, you will not only get a lot more visitors, you will be strengthening your web visibility. This is great for anyone who is involved in internet marketing of any sort. Here's a good strategy to gain these links.

So, it is useful to use very specific keywords in your blog in order to gain more web exposure. It's also very useful if you can pinpoint some less competitive keywords, and then populate your blog with these keywords so that you can drive a lot of traffic to your site. Installing a feedback blog on your website not only helps you understand the client base and how they think you are doing, but it is also one of the most tempting blogs for new visitors to use. Who doesn’t like to know they are heard? Feedback blogs allow the consumer a chance to be heard, and people love them. You can always retain your right to remove offensive material or material that has the potential to be damaging, but don’t just take it off because it is negative. Leaving it there in all its ugly criticism might be uncomfortable for you, but it will encourage others to participate as well as draw in those with opposing opinions. People not only like to be heard, but they also like to debate. It is human nature and encouraging it can only benefit you in the long run.

When maintained, updated, and administered to regularly, your blog has the potential to reach more people every day than banners, opt in lists, and low ranked pay per click advertising combined. Once you get your blog up and running and promote it and link it appropriately in order to pull the necessary traffic to it, you will have not only a fabulous advertising forum, but also have an effective method for building trust and business relationships with a wide expanse of users.

When you are ready to start your own blog site, remember this little rule of thumb that has worked well for others in the past. Design and graphics are very cool, but content is more important. Bloggers are rather forgiving. While they may initially be impressed with some fabulous graphic design, they will stay because the topics and content are really much more powerful than anything that can be totally visual. Your blog should be designed well, but with content in the forefront of everything. For more details go on www.greatblogbox.com

Never directly sell on your blog unless you are specifically asked to. If a user wants to know how to get their hands on your product, of course you want to answer that question. However, blogging is a method of passing on information which in turn generates sales and the financial gain you are seeking. The fastest way to turn bloggers away is to try to sell them on your material just because they posted a comment or a thought. Use the blog as a method of communicating all kinds of information but resist the urge to sell to every user personally.

In the mean time, Good Luck on your journey to success…

Choosing A Writer For Your Content

If you want to gain a more prominent web presence, you should work to gain more links to your site from other sites online. One of the best ways to accomplish this is to write and release articles that are closely connected to the topic of your niche and then submit those articles to article submission websites.

If you feel nervous about writing these articles yourself, you can always hire a search engine marketing specialist who will find and manage writers to get your valuable information on the web in article form.

Here are a few tips in selecting the best writer for the job:

1) Find a writer who can put your passion into words.
Make sure they can write in your voice. The best way to ensure that your article takes on the tone and theme that you are looking for is to give the article writer lots of your own words to work from. If possible, have the article writer only write the articles using the content that you provide from your own teleseminars, ebooks, or video presentations--unless they have done through research on the topic and you feel they have the necessary knowledge to get the job done satisfactorily. Only have the writer write your articles using content you provide via teleseminar, video presentations, and the link unless the writer has already thoroughly researched your topic and you feel confident that they can represent you effectively.

Apple Online Store

2) Keep it shirt and to the point.
Make sure your writer is not too wordy. The ideal article would be about a page long using a 10 point font, ranging between 400 and 700 words long. Any longer or shorter and you run the risk of the article submission sites rejecting your content. If you have so much info that it can't all fit into one or two articles, that's a good thing because you can use it to create more articles...and the more articles you write, the more links you gain that point back to your site.

3) Use valuable information in your articles.
The main focus of your content pieces is to teach the reader something new or to help them solve a problem. You always want to the article to include a call to action. Give the reader a task or project to complete. Bullet points and numbered lists are always a winner because they leave the reader with a "checklist" of what to do when they walk away from the article.

Tips to get the higher position in search engines

Enter a simple word in a search engine and you will find hundreds and hundreds of different sites providing you various types of information on that single word. This is how the internet has changed the complete meaning of searching, reading and also learning. Today, there are thousands of websites providing you different type products, facilities and services to their various customers or users. Each of these sites are scanned thoroughly by the search engines and then ranked accordingly. The sites with the best page ranking are positioned higher in the search engine results. It is very easy to make a site on the net, but to make a site with higher page rank in the search engine is equally difficult.

There are numerous sites on the internet, why should the customer come looking for information in your site? To make it attractive and also get higher rank in the search engine, you have to make sure about a few things. Thus to help you increase your position in the search engine result here are a few very basic but important tips.

1 Select a proper keyword rich title: In any post, the title is the most important part as it is the title that attracts the readers towards your site. Thus, while finalizing the title make sure that it contains the keyword in it. This will help to increase your page ranking.

2 Select the appropriate tags and keywords: Use the best tools to select the best keywords or the tags, to enrich your site. The google adwords keyword tool is one of the best tools that will help you to select some of the best tools for your site.

3 Intellectually use the trailing keywords: the keywords should be used properly for increasing its search engine ranking. You should include your keywords in the post just after the title and also in many other places in the post. Use trailing keywords to make your site keyword rich.

4 Use keywords in the post body: In a post, the body or the content is the most important part after an attractive title. People will visit your site only if the content in the site is informative and not some scrap.

5 Highlight the keywords: in a search engine optimization, the search engines are more attracted to the highlighted keywords. Thus, to increase the search engine ranking, highlight the keywords or the tags.

6 Use keywords in URL's: Select a proper URL for your site. Make sure that it contains the keyword.

7 Navigation menu: the navigation menu used in the site should possibly include the page's title.

8 Don't put irrelevant links: just as a search engine marketing strategy, don't put irrelevant tools in the site.

9 Update regularly: update your site regularly without fail. Update it manually everyday with one post. The search engines don't like the automatic updating of the site.

10 Be alert about the SEO news: Always be alert about all the new SEO news and other highlights. There might be changes in the techniques which might be very important for your site.

Search Engine Optimization: The Top 3 Mistakes Website Owners Make

It's estimated that about 50% of most any website's traffic can be attributed to links from a search engine results page (SERP). In other words, half of a website's traffic comes not from people who are deliberately searching for that site.

Instead, it results from a keyword query of a search engine. Knowing this, many web-business owners try to boost their rankings by creating websites that will catch the attention of search engine robots. Yet try as they may, sometimes what seems like a good plan for search engine optimization doesn't achieve the desired result.

This is often because web owners and designers make one or more of three common mistakes:

1. Too little text. Search engines are partial to written text. 'Robots' scan the Internet and pull out and evaluate blocks of text. If a webpage contains too few words, or if words are broken up and scattered about the page, they may get overlooked. Therefore, they will not be indexed.

If, for example, a particular website sells t-shirts, it may have several pages of thumbnail pictures of t-shirts, with short captions or descriptions. Even though it may be very apparent that the subject of the website is "t-shirts," robots cannot index a site based on pictures. Even though the pictures may be accompanied by descriptions, there are probably too few words to catch the attention of search engine robots.

Solution: Make sure every single web page contains a short, continuous block of text, preferably at the top of the page. It should describe what the page is about. Make sure there is a link somewhere on the page pointing back to the home page.

2. Too few key words. Obviously you are looking to attract web surfers who are in the market for your particular product or service. This is why choosing keyword based on a target market is so important. If your business is installing backyard ponds, then 'backyard ponds' would be a natural choice of keywords.

But if they do not appear in your text frequently enough, your page will not get a very high ranking for the words 'backyard ponds.' Where you place those keywords is also significant. For example, robots assign more 'weight' to words which appear in your title (or header tag) or within the first paragraph of text. They assume that words which are placed here strongly indicate the subject of the text.

Solution: Make sure your title and your first paragraph contain your keywords. Those words should also make up about 1.5% to 5% of your entire text.

3. Too many keywords. Expert opinion is divided on how much keyword density a block of text should have. However, it's generally agreed that more than 5% is too much. Sometimes web owners make the mistake of trying to insert too many of them into text. Search engine robots may simply overlook text that appears 'stuffed' and won't index it at all.

Solution: Stick within the 1.5% to 5% formula. Try different ratios within this frame until you hit on the one that gives you the ranking that you're looking for.

It may take practice getting the right balance of keywords to text. Remember, it may take anywhere from several hours to a few weeks for a web page to get scanned. Don't panic if your page doesn't get indexed right away. After posting your text, check back once a day for 2-3 weeks by doing a keyword query with your search terms.

If your site isn't showing up on the first page of the search results in that time, you may need to go back to the drawing board. Or, if it isn't ranking as high as you would like, try tweaking your text a bit by adding and moving keywords. See what the top three ranking sites under your keyword query have done to place them in those spots. See if you can identify what they're doing differently. Then aim to do the same. Soon you may find your site ranking in the top three.

Page Rank 10 Experiment

How would you like to own a web site with a Google page rank of 10? I know that I sure would. This all mighty rank would almost surely guarantee that you could achieve high rankings for keywords that you targeted.

Additionally, the highly sought after page rank would have potential advertisers flocking to your site wanting to get a link to their site so that they could get their share of the page rank.

Well, you may just have that opportunity present itself to you. There is an experiment going on right now to bring a particular website to a page rank of 10 in 730 days. This is starting from a page rank of 0.

AN Hosting - Great Hosting Since 2001!

As I write this, there are 472 days left and this site has reached a page rank of 4 so far. They are predicting a page rank of 6 on the next Google update.

The kicker is this. If the site does reach the page rank of 10, the site that has referred the most traffic to it will win the page rank 10 site for free.

Not only that, but the top 10 referring sites are currently listed on the front page of the experimental site. This can send a good share of page rank back to your site if you are one of the top referrers.

Will this site ever achieve the coveted PR10 status? I don’t know the answer, but I have a feeling that the people at Google will certainly have a say in this.

Is achieving a PR10 purely based on the Google algorithm? Or is there more to it than that?

If you would like to check this out, visit The Pixel Wars today and click on the green “pagerank10” banner located on the left side of this site. (pixel advertising)

Search Engine Marketing - How Search Engines Rank Web Pages

Getting your webpage ranked as high as possible on a search engine results page is one of the goals of search engine marketing and using search engine optimization on your website. But do you know how the search engine actually ranks and indexes web pages? Most search engines use a complicated process to index and rank the web pages that the search engine spiders find when they are scanning the web. Using search engine optimization and putting articles written with search engine marketing in mind will get the search engine spiders to your site but once the search engine spiders find your site they have to index your site and then assign your site a ranking within the thousands of other sites that contain information on the same topic that your site has.

Different search engines use different methods to assign a weight or rank to each web page that the search engine's spiders find so using different methods of search engine marketing and using different percentages of search engine optimization is a good idea. If you do several different types of search engine marketing and utilize more than one kind of search engine optimization tool then it's more likely that a search engine spider will find your web page and assign it a higher weight or rank.

One of the ways that search engine spiders determine the weight or rank of a particular web page is to index the number of times that a particular word or key phrase appears on a site. The search engine spider will assign a weight or rank to the web page based on how many times that word or key phrase appears within the web page. This is a very common method of assigning rank to web pages that is used by a lot of the most popular search engines so it's important to use search engine marketing and search engine optimization to make sure that those search engine spiders give your site a high ranking or weight.

Another way that search engine spiders assign a weight or rank to a web page is to take note of where in the web page a particular keyword or key phrase is located. For search engines that use this kind of ranking system just using standard search engine marketing or traditional search engine optimization techniques might not be enough to get your website noticed by the search engine spiders. In order to draw the spiders of search engines that rank web pages based on the location of the keyword or key phrase on the page it's necessary to use those words to tag your page. Tagging a page is putting that particular keyword or key phrase in the meta tags of your site, using them in the heading or home page of your site and using those words or phrases systematically through the rest of the site. If you think of your website as a tree in order to get the attention of spiders from the search engines that use this type of ranking system you have to have a particular key word or key phrase on every branch of the tree in order to get a higher ranking.

Search Engine Optimization On Page Techniques

Search engine optimization on page techniques are incredibly important for natural and organic search results. On page techniques are simply search engine optimization techniques that are used on the webpage itself to let the search engines know the purpose and keywords of the site. Although search engine optimization on page techniques probably only account for approximately 10% of the search engines’ ranking of your website, if you do not use on page search engine optimization techniques the search engines won't know for which keywords your website should be ranked.

Lunarpages.com Web Hosting

So what are search engine optimization on page techniques and which are most important to use?

1. The first search engine optimization on page technique that you should be using is including your main keywords in your title tag, and your description tag on your website.

2. The second search engine optimization and on page technique that you should be using is including your main keywords in your keyword tag, and not stuffing your keyword tag with any other keywords.

3. The third search engine optimization and on page technique that you should be using is using your keyword or keyword phrases naturally in the content of the webpage at least once in the first paragraph and at least once in the last paragraph.

4. The fourth search engine optimization on page technique that you should be using is bolding italicizing and including your keyword in at least one heading tag.

These are the basic search engine optimization on page techniques and should be used on all of your webpages. In addition to on page search engine optimization you should also be doing extensive linking and off page optimization techniques.

Search Engine Optimization – SEO Techniques and Basics

Search engine optimization may be defined as a technique of making your web site optimized so that it easier for the search engines to find it. Promotion via SEO perceives what Internet visitors may look for, to assist them with sites giving what they are engrossed in finding. Search engine optimization is the best way to drive traffic to your web site. Search Engine Optimization does not have to be complex. The basic point is to keep in mind that each and every page of your web site is an exclusive unit and has to be treated aptly for search engine optimization.

Search engine optimization can be easily applied to any web site. Search engine optimization is to make proper changes in your web site such as adding noticeable text so that the search engines are able to see them. In the last few years, the web sites are using latest technologies such as flash, java etc that hides the content from the search engines. Search engine optimization makes sure that the search engines do not overlook your web site.

Email Marketing - Creating the Perfect Incentive Offer

If you are planning on building a list for your new internet business, one of the first things you will need to figure out is what your free offer (usually a free report or ebook) is going to be. In an ideal world, I would suggest writing this yourself. If your report is written in your own voice your subscribers will get a much stronger feel for who you are as a person and a much stronger bond will be developed.

That being said, if for any reason you do not wish to write the report yourself, You can easily hire someone to do it for you or purchase the private label rights to an ebook or report that is appropriate for your list.

The most important thing here - and I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record when it comes to this - is to CREATE VALUE. If your free report is just recycled junk, there is little hope of building any kind of real relationship with your list. Many people tend to think that giving away all of your valuable information will just deter a customer from purchasing. The opposite is true. If you can engage a persons mind, sense or emotions, they will generally want more of what you have to offer. It's the same reason companies offer free samples in grocery stores. It costs the companies money in the short term, but if the product is good, people will buy more down the line, in many cases, when they otherwise never would have.

Download my FREE report in which I share my secret strategies for Making Money Online.

How to Optimize My Website For Google

Optimizing your website for Google is a very good idea, after all they account for about 50% of all the search engine traffic online and that percentage continues to grow as more people come online. There are a couple of factors that you would need to keep in mind when optimizing your site for the super successful search engine.

The first thing you need to ask yourself is "what does the search engine want". They are looking to supply their clients with the content! So if you want to be properly optimized to enjoy targeted traffic in your niche, you want to have great and preferably unique content on your website.

The second factor you need to know is that Google also looks at how frequently your website is updated, they want to know that you update your website more than once a year. This factor is actually for your benefit as well. Think about it...if you update your website regularly your prospects will return to you time and time again. The more they return, the more likely they will respond to your offer.

Apple Online Store

The last I will go over in this article would be your "backlinks". A backlink is simply your url that is placed on a website that is related to yours and the link is a clickable link. Google looks at these links as a good think and they help your website optimization of your website.

Optimizing your website is one of the best traffic generation strategies, mainly because the quality of traffic you will receive will be the most targeted. The only downfall to this method is that it can take some time to begin to see the results.

Another great way to see the same traffic results in as little as 48 hours is by using Content Marketing.

I wasted 17months trying to drive profitable traffic to my website, but you should not do the same. Instead click here to get a copy of my "Quality Traffic Report". In it I will show you my results after testing Content Marketing vs. Google pay per click, you can use the results to start driving profitable traffic to your website and also increase your opt-in rate. visit http://www.qualitytrafficbuilder.com/traffic

Strategies For Reciprocal Linking

Reciprocal linking strategies have been used by webmasters for a long time. This style of linking is still an important strategy and, when used properly, will increase the search engine rankings for your website. There are some unethical reciprocal linking strategies out there, but these should be avoided at all cost. Do not let yourself be drawn into any "quick fix approach" to marketing your website.

Reciprocal linking is like a joint enterprise between two or more websites. The basic premise is that you communicate with another website owner and agree to provide a link to his or her site, as long as they agree to link back to yours. The philosophy here is that, "if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours".

There are essentially four strategies used for building reciprocal links.

1. The first method is the long way. With this first strategy, you send emails to the webmasters of any sites you are interested in linking with. The webmaster will either agree or disagree to do the exchange (or they may just ignore your email altogether). If the webmaster agrees, then you just exchange links and you are done.

2. Method 2 would involve using one of the many software programs out there which essentially semi-automate the reciprocal linking process. I certainly recommend the software method as it will save you a huge amount of time. Also, the software should be able to check that the links coming back to you from your partner sites remain active. If you had to continually check for active links manually, it would prove to be extremely time consuming. If a partner site link becomes inactive for some reason, then there is no benefit for you to remain linked to them. Remember that websites come and go, so you need to have a way to accurately monitor your exchanged links.

3. A third method involves purchasing reciprocal links (By the way, you can also purchase one way links). I would urge caution with this method. The search engine crawlers are becoming very clever these days. Search engines such as Google tend to frown upon purchased links.

4. A fourth strategy would include using a reciprocal link exchange service. These consist of networks of hundreds of webmasters with sites on a variety of topics. With these services, all the member websites involved will trade links with each other. The trouble here is that you will end up with a lot of unrelated reciprocal links. The search engines really don't like these services and they have sophisticated ways of detecting them.

One very important consideration when gathering reciprocal links is that you only want to hook up with sites that are related to yours. For instance, if your website is centered around affiliate marketing programs and you exchange a link with a web site on cake baking styles, then that link exchange is simply not relevant. If you start linking to unrelated sites, the search engines will consider this to be "link spamming". Do not link spam, as this will destroy your credibility in the long run and possibly get your site banned.

In summary then, reciprocal linking is still a good SEO strategy if done properly. It should be carried out in conjunction with other SEO marketing tactics such as one way linking, key word optimization, blogging and article marketing, just to name a few. Good luck with your reciprocal linking campaign.

How To Own Google's Top Spots!

Ranking well on Google takes two things, good content and great links. But it's not an even split. Because Google assumes only a page with good content would get great inbound links it puts about 70% of the importance for ranking on links and only about 30% on content. That little tidbit alone will put you head and shoulders above all those competitors still messing with META tags and spamming keywords. But if you want a huge advantage over the rest of your competition, keep reading. I'm about to show you how the pros do it and win every time.

Part 1: Perfect Your Anchor Text

So just what is anchor text and why is it important? Anchor text is the clickable word or words that make up the hyperlink. You've seen anchor text a million times (the underlined words that are typically blue.) Google figures any words special enough to be used as a guide in a link are extra valuable, which makes anchor text extremely important for you to use properly.

Just how powerful is anchor text? More than most people dream. Try an experiment. Go to Google and search for "click here" (without quotes.) The top match for years has been a page for Adobe Acrobat Reader. So does that Adobe page have "click here" copied 50 times in the text? No. In fact "click here" does not even appear on the page a single time! Does it have "click here" embedded in its META tags. No; again, not even once.

So how can it possibly rank number 1 on Google for a term it never even references? Because of the thousands of Webpages that use "click here" as the anchor text linking to Adobe's free download of Acrobat Reader.

By the way, did you happen to notice how many pages Adobe beat out for a term they never optimized themselves for? Almost Two Billion! So yes, I have to say anchor text is extremely powerful.

Part 2: Build Linking Consistency

Most people don't realize that even though http://www.Wikipedia.com and http://Wikipedia.com lead to the same Wikipedia homepage, they are seen as two different links by Google. Let's take it a step further. If you keep the "www" and lose the "http" you have another link that goes to the same place but is treated as unique by Google.

All that said; be as consistent as possible when requesting links. Find one format and stick to it. One hundred inbound links to the exact same URL is much better than 25 links each, using four different URLs that lead to the same place.

Part 3: PageRank Leads to Page Rank

Google's PageRank algorithm can make or break your search engine optimization efforts and plays a big part in your eventual Webpage rankings. So PageRank and page rank? Here's a tip to end the confusion. When you see the single word "PageRank" it is referring to a trademarked name that Google owns. PageRank is a unit of measure that Google developed, and uses to determine the value of a Webpage. When you see the words "page rank" we are merely talking about how a Webpage ranks, or is positioned on a search engine for a given keyword.

So how does it work? A page with a GPR of 6 is considered very important by Google, while a page with a GPR of 0 is not so much. If you get links from pages with high GPRs you will build your own PageRank. If you get links from pages with no GPR, they can still help you but do not lend any additional PageRank credibility.

Higher GPR leads to more credibility with Google and possibly becoming what they consider to be an "authority" which can double your top placements, literally. To see what I mean, search for "cats" on Google (without quotes.) The number 1 match is Wikipedia.com and references furry little felines. The number 2 match is also from Wikipedia but is about a Broadway musical.

So what? Notice how that second match is indented? That means it was not meant to be number 2 and might have actually been number 10 or 16 or more. But since Wikipedia.com is what Google considers an authority, it gets little bumps like this. Pretty nice huh? And trust me, you don't have to be Wikipedia to become an authority. Everything you need is in this article. I've done it many times.

There are different ways to see a page's GPR. If you don't already have it, visit Google and download their "Google Toolbar." It will show you the GPR of any page on the Web.

Part 4: Use the Best Tools

Last but not least, SEO is like anything else, if you use the best tools for the job your results will be faster, better and longer lasting.

Back in the day, search engine optimization professionals and do it yourselfers had to do everything by hand. It took forever and one simple mistake could mean weeks of work down the drain. Today however, there are plenty of software tools to help get the job done in a faction of the time. Just find the BEST one for what you want to accomplish.

For our particular needs, were looking for an app than can help with linking and build our "authority" status and check ranking progress. Over the past six or so years I've used nearly a dozen pieces of software claiming to be the best. Some were pretty good. Others were a waste. The one I most often recommend to my SEO seminar students is SEO Elite (http://www.SEOeliteWeb.com) because it gets amazing results and is one of the most affordable options at $167.

Even if you're not ready for a tool, you might want to check out the above link and go through some of the video tutorials. They show you how to find "authority" link partners, get special insights on anchor text and how to best spy on your competition.

That's it for now. Good luck and keep at it!

Increase Your Sale by Generating Traffic To Your Site

Saturday, May 17, 2008

Why You Need an Article Marketing Strategy Before Posting a Single Article Online

First, Define your Bulls Eye
If you’re going to write and post articles on the Internet, be unambiguous about what you expect them to accomplish. Don’t start writing just yet. Think beyond the mechanics of writing an article or deciding where to post it.

It’s one thing to spin out an article or two. It’s quite another to incorporate them into a strategy that builds your website traffic, reputation, and business. All your marketing methods should work together - online and off.

Your Strategy Clarifies:
- Who you’re trying to reach - How to find them
- What you want them to do next (does your website support that aim?)
- Your primary goal and message
- How articles (with particular titles and keywords) mesh with your other marketing

Article marketing is nothing more than a way to get information (not advertising) broadly distributed on the Internet. It can’t compensate for a muddled or dull message. And it won’t build your site traffic unless it connects to readers in an interesting way.

Write Articles that Trumpet a Unique Business Message
A frequent business error is treating each customer- attracting activity as though it stands alone. Yet each method works better when echoing a common message that links to the others.

To quote Roy Williams, the Wizard of Ads,
http://www.wizardofads.com "It’s hard to tell a powerful story badly. But it’s easy to tell a weak story well. I’ve never seen a business fail because they were "reaching the wrong people." But I’ve seen thousands fail because they were saying the wrong thing... It’s amazing how many people become the "right people" when you’re saying the right thing. Believe it or not, it’s advertising third, customer delight second, strategy always first."

Maximize your Customer-Attracting Methods
Last year I wrote an ebook showing how to make the business website and Yellow Page ad work together to bring new customers. It made the point that each promotional method has its own strengths, and reaches different groups http://www.yellowpagesage.com/smarts.html By them working together, each approach does a more persuasive job.

As an example, the directory ad should display a website address. A recent study found that over 60% of people surveyed only call Yellow Page ads that show a website (even if they don’t intend to visit it). Besides, the website lets the business provide information that won’t fit within the dimensions of an ad.

A single approach can’t cover all your bases. The same applies to article marketing.

Article Marketing Strengths
- Ability to deliver an interesting "sample" of your expertise
- Long enough to be informative (600-800 words)
- Reaches and speaks to tightly focused interest groups
- Quickly delivers the message throughout the Internet
- Long shelf life - some websites keep articles posted for years
- Builds on the keywords that your website uses
- Incoming-links from websites that post your articles

Plan More than One Article at a Time
You can’t develop much momentum with one article. That’s like shooting a gun with a single bullet, or a PPC (pay-per- click) campaign for just one term. The odds of hitting your mark aren’t too good. Several articles written to reinforce each other generate more mileage. As you get more articles out there, people start paying attention, and you can target more keywords. Repeated publications develop a personality that readers recognize.

Plan a number of titles in advance, with a theme building from one to the next. Keep each one tightly focused, but related to the others. In that way, you develop the in-depth "voice" of an expert. And your information won’t lapse into ho-hum generalities. Write first-rate articles when you rely on the extensive free resources http://www.promotewitharticles.com at Article Marketing Academy.

Try writing some in a series (like, Part 1 of 3 parts) to build anticipation for future segments. Also, your message won’t be confined to the 600 to 800 word article limit. Since each article in the series resides on your website, readers needn’t wait to read them all (giving them an incentive to visit your site). Later, the whole series can be offered as a special report or ebook (once related material is added).

Write with your keywords in mind.
Maintain your primary message, with a different twist for parallel niches. Go to the extra effort to say something new. That’s easy when you provide stories, examples, case studies from your own experience. As you dish out practical assistance in your
articles, readers will be eagerly watching for your next ones.

Getting A Solid Internet Marketing Foundation

As we look at building our online businesses, many of us acknowledge, early-on, that we don't know it all. Those who don't, are almost certain to fail because they often attempt to apply techniques that simply don't work online - to their online businesses. The quickest way to online success is to model those who are already successful at what you want to do. It' s that simple.

Of all of the chores involved in building your business, marketing is usually the most critical. Poor marketing is also the reason so many businesses fail. You need to learn to properly market your business or hire someone else to do it for you. I'll give you a few recommended resources to help jumpstart your education in a minute.

A second extremely important skill that goes hand-in-hand with marketing is generating publicity. You can have the greatest product in the world, but if no one knows about it, it may as well not exist. If no one knows about you, then you won't make any sales!

Let's look at generating publicity first...

Publicity can take many forms, and they often overlaps what many would define as marketing. For today, I want you to focus on the most effective, and often cheapest, publicity. In fact, this great publicity is often free. What we're talking about here is publicity generated by getting the media and others talking about you and your business. We're talking about the publicity typically generated through tools such as press releases and doing media interviews.

Why is the above type of publicity so powerful? It's so powerful because people believe what others say about you MORE than they believe what you say about yourself. So when you can get magazines, newspapers, television and radio personalities, and even online ezines talking about you, those hearing this buzz believe it more and are therefore more likely to go check you out.

A second reason this type of publicity is so powerful is because you can literally generate millions of dollars in free publicity if you know what you are doing. You may not be able to afford a full-page ad in a major magazine or newspaper. However, let the right person know about your story and that same publication will be all to happy to tell the world about you... and give them your website url and/or your toll-free phone number.

Learning to get media attention is not hard. To make it even easier, I've arranged for my friend, Annie Jennings, who runs a top PR agency, to help you a little. Her site is at:
http://www.anniejenningspr.com/teleseminars.htm

I gave you the above url because it is the page where she tells you of upcoming telesemianrs she's hosting on various promotion and sales-related topics. These teleseminars are all free.

While at Annie's site, sign up for other goodies she offers including courses in generating press releases, creating a platform, getting on top radio shows, etc. She'll give you all types of freebies like audiotapes and coffee cups. When I first met her, and she sent me an intro package, it felt like Christmas.

So we'll let Annie turn you into a "media darling." Then you can focus on learning marketing. This is where most online business people should probably spend 80% of their time - not on all of the busywork that you can get someone else to do. The highest and best use of your time is probably in marketing your business, not making webpage updates, writing or even creating products. You can get freelancers to do this for you very inexpensively at places like Elance.com

Marketing is nothing more than communicating the benefits of your products or services effectively to your ideal customer. It all hinges upon effective communications, and your communications can be greatly improved if you understand how and why we interact the way we do with each other. To get a firm grasp on that topic I recommend that you read the book, "Influence, The Psychology of Persuassion," by Dr. Robert Cialdini.

You'll never be the same after you've read and digest this book. If you're like me you'll find yourself reading it over and over! You can find this book at online bookstores.

Another solid book on marketing is Jay Abraham's "Mr. X" book. This 376 page book distills several decades of the marketing know-how of Jay Abraham. The full title of the book is "Money-Making Secrets of Marketing Genius Jay Abraham And Other Marketing Wizards - A No-Nonsense Guide To Great Wealth and a Personal Fortune." This book is so good that you could devote six month just to studying the one book, and you'd understand more about marketing than 95% of your competitors.

This book is marketed by the Abraham Marketing Group, but Internet marketers working with the group run specials from time to time. Just watch your email for one of these specials.

A course that I recommend that isn't just on marketing but on developing the proper mindset is by Dr. Robert Anthony. It's called "Know How To Be Rich." In order to run a really successful business, you need to properly train your mind. Many people actually need to give themselves permission to be successful. Dr. Anthony's course was a big "A-ha" for me and many of my clients.
You can find it at: http://TheInternetLifestyle.com

You'll notice that none of the resources just recommended were specifically Internet-marketing-only resources. That's because internet marketing is just an offshoot of marketing, and most of the principles are the same. Most Internet marketers who are struggling, don't have a good grasp of the over-riding basic marketing principles. That's what the above resources will provide.

Two Internet marketing resources I will recommend are a private membership site I've set up, and a course on how to generate website traffic. You can find my site at:
http://TheRealSecrets.com The webpage does a great job of explaining why you need to be a member :-)

Without website traffic, your website basically has the same results as a billboard on a highway that no one travels. It produces no results because no one sees it. So you do need to learn how to generate traffic. For that I recommend the very indepth, crash course offered by John Reese's Traffic Secrets. I've personally gone through the 13 CD's and DVD ROM's, and 3 manuals - TWICE.

You can check out this course at:
http://TrafficSecretsByJohnReese.com
It's a little expensive, but well worth it if you USE what he teaches. If you aren't going to use it, then you should save your money.

If you work your way through the above resources you'll be well on your way to building a massively successful online business. None of these resources are something you give a quick glance and then the magic happens. They all require effort. Put in the effort now and you'll have a very solid foundation upon which to build your Internet marketing business. By understand basic marketing, and then how the internet differs, you'll possess some very powerful, rarely mastered knowledge.

How To Track All Your Website Traffic For Free

Do you know:

* Exactly how many people are visiting your website?
* How long they're staying on your site before they move on?
* Exactly where those visitors are coming from, each day?
* How much of your website traffic is repeat visitors?
* The exact paths people take as they click their way through your website?

Here's what I'm getting at:

If you don't know your visitors, it makes it *very* difficult for you to improve the performance of your website and turn more visitors into customers - AND - get more quality traffic. For the simple reason that you're effectively working blind.

Without knowing how people visit your site and what they do on your site, any attempts at growing your traffic and improving the profitability of your website is working with one armed tied behind your back, at least.

And unfortunately - the web stats that come with your web-hosting are generally not enough these days.

Depending on your web host, chances are you've either got Webalizer, Analog Stats, or AWStats installed on your server. Here's how that software works:

It takes the "raw" (unreadable to the human eye) information your web server stores of everyone that visits and presents this in an easy to understand way.

Unfortunately, due to a number of technical reasons, this information is often presented in quite an inaccurate way.

And in my personal experience, these software packages don't present this information in a particularly helpful way either for someone trying to improve the conversion ratios and profitability of their website.

What I personally do, and what I would suggest you do is use a "Tracking Solution" that accurately tracks and reports all your visitors in an easy to read and understand way. These solutions come in two forms: Software & Services

Both these options have their pros and cons, but what they both do very well is present exactly what's happening on your website right up to the minute, and in a way that's very helpful to you for making good (and profitable) decisions for your business.

To start with here's a software solution you can install and use for free on your website:

Now before you go and install it, you should of course be familiar with installing software on your server. If you're not comfortable installing software on your website, a tracking service (which I'll come to in a moment) would probably be best for you.

And it's also important to note that installing software on your website can often put more strain on the server. This is particularly true if you're on shared hosting.

I've personally used the following free tracking software and it works well. See what you think. Go to http://www.curve2.com and look for "TrackPro". As I write this, version 2 is in Beta and is downloadable from the site at the following address: http://www.curve2.com/trackpro.php

You'll also find many further free tracking software solutions at http://www.hotscripts.com.

But personally speaking, what I've found works very well and avoids putting any increased strain on my existing websites is using a third party tracking service.

The only things really to worry about when using a third party service are:

* How long will this service be around? (If they stop their service after a year, you wouldn't be able to access your past data and will have to change all your tracking codes on your pages too.)
* What is their privacy policy regarding my web stats? (Are they honest and trustworthy in other words. You don't want the service owners studying and then duplicating your successful business plan.)

Over the past month I've been using ecommStats (http://www.ecommstats.com). Now, this service isn't free, but at this time they give you 50,000 free page views per domain, and depending how busy your site is those page views can last you a very long time.

The service works great and is very easy to add to your pages -- simply add three lines of code at the bottom of each of your pages (you can easily do this with Server Side Includes if you're comfortable with that) and all your visitors get tracked accurately and in great detail.

Alternatively - an entirely free (at this time) and very established service is StatCounter (http://statcounter.com). It even has a rave review from Tucows.com (one of the largest download sites on the internet) which speaks for itself and adds a lot of credibility to the service.

And just in case you're wondering how a free service like StatCounter makes money, well - since it's such a popular service with many webmasters logging in every day (and many I'm sure even more than once a day just like me) that it's made it very easy for them to sell a lot of advertising on their site. They also offer an upgrade to their advanced paid service.

But thinking beyond free services, as your business grows you may choose to upgrade to high end paid services that provide even more in depth information about your visitors...

Services like Urchin (Urchin.com - owned by Google) or Deep Metrix (DeepMetix.com). However, to help you grow your business to that point you need to keep a close eye on what your visitors are doing and where they're coming from, and free tracking software and services is a great way for you to start to do this.

How To Get Traffic To Your Site

Today, the biggest problem that new website owners have is: “How they can get traffic to their website?” Significant amount of time and energy is spent today on this single task. You or your webmaster needs to commonly focus on:

- Get ranked well on the most important search engines (Google, Yahoo, Msn, Ask.com, etc.)
- Pay Per Click (PPC) programs
- Cost Per Click (CPC) programs
- Link Exchanges
- Directory Submissions
- And more…

All of these methods are valuable for getting traffic to your website. If you are not competent enough to rank well your keywords, you can obviously hire a SEO (Search Engine Optimizer) for this work. From search engines you can get a very large portion of traffic to your website.

Today, everyone wants to know the big secret to driving traffic to their website. Every day I see an article or an ad talking about driving people to your website; driving traffic to a website has become the “holy grail” on the Internet. People are realizing that if you build it, they won't come... unless you give them a reason. Website traffic just doesn't happen by itself. Your website is just one of many millions on the web and people rarely just stumble upon your site by accident.

There are many ways to drive traffic to your website. You can buy traffic from vendors that will pummel your website with hits from automated programs. This will increase your hits but will it increase your bottom line? Probably not. You can set up blogs that spider (connect to) your website increasing your traffic count. Does this drive users to your website? Only if your blog is so interesting that people are reading it. There are thousands of blogs posted on the internet and your blog is just a needle in the internet haystack.

Another trick is to create RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds for your website and subscribe to other RSS feeds. This again will increase your hit count but will do very little to drive potential customers to your website unless you're providing valuable information. Tricks will increase your hit count but do very little todrive potential customers to your website.

People often turn to traffic exchanges. Quite simply, a traffic exchange is a program where you sign up and agree to surf sites in exchange for some credits. These credits are then used when other members of the exchange surf to your site. This traffic is not highly targeted traffic. In fact, if this were your only method of advertising your website, you'd probably fail. BUT it is a great method of getting traffic to your site in addition to the other methods listed above.

So, why do people use traffic exchanges? Here are a few of the benefits:

- Increase your Alexa rating! Did you know that some search engines factor your Alexa rating into their algorithms? More traffic means higher search engine placement!

- Increase your branding awareness. Any marketing expert worth his salt will tell you that branding is extremely important to stand out amongst the billions of websites out there.

More traffic equals more sales. A percentage of people surfing will be enticed by your ads and click on them to find out more information. Another source of revenue. Many traffic exchanges will actually pay you money to surf. More importantly, as you refer other people to the network, you'll earn a percentage of the money that they earn! It may be small amounts but if you work the system it could amount to a lot of money.

Now, before you head over to Google and search for Traffic Exchange, I'd recommend knowing a few facts:

- Some traffic exchanges are simply out to get money from you and will refer very little traffic to you.

- Some traffic exchanges have poor systems in place to stop cheaters from running programs to increase their credits faster.

Finally, some traffic exchanges will allow popup, active x controls, site rotators, etc. in their network. Any of these can stop your auto surfing from working, or even worse, allow your computer to be infected with a virus.

The best part about Traffic Exchanges is that you really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The worst thing that could happen to you is you get a little bit of traffic which increases your Alexa rankings and you don't get any money.

Of course, for the system to work, you've got to make sure that you do some surfing yourself. The makers of the exchange programs realize this and some of them even have an auto surf feature where you get a reduced number of credits while your browser happily loads page after page every 10 seconds or so.

Search Engine Keyword Selection

Search engines are the vehicles that drive potential customers to your websites. But in order for visitors to reach their destination - your website - you need to provide them with specific and effective signs that will direct them right to your site. You do this by creating carefully chosen keywords.

Think of the right keywords as the Open Sesame! of the Internet. Find the exactly right words or phrases, and presto! hoards of traffic will be pulling up to your front door. But if your keywords are too general or too over-used, the possibility of visitors actually making it all the way to your site - or of seeing any real profits from the visitors that do arrive - decreases dramatically.

Your keywords serve as the foundation of your marketing strategy. If they are not chosen with great precision, no matter how aggressive your marketing campaign may be, the right people may never get the chance to find out about it. So your first step in plotting your strategy is to gather and evaluate keywords and phrases.

You probably think you already know EXACTLY the right words for your search phrases. Unfortunately, if you haven't followed certain specific steps, you are probably WRONG. It's hard to be objective when you are right in the center of your business network, which is the reason that you may not be able to choose the most efficient keywords from the inside. You need to be able to think like your customers. And since you are a business owner and not the consumer, your best bet is to go directly to the source.

Instead of plunging in and scribbling down a list of potential search words and phrases yourself, ask for words from as many potential customers as you can. You will most likely find out that your understanding of your business and your customers' understanding is significantly different.

The consumer is an invaluable resource. You will find the words you accumulate from them are words and phrases you probably never would have considered from deep inside the trenches of your business.

Only after you have gathered as many words and phrases from outside resources should you add your own keyword to the list. Once you have this list in hand, you are ready for the next step: evaluation.

RecordNow 10 Music Lab Premier

The aim of evaluation is to narrow down your list to a small number of words and phrases that will direct the highest number of quality visitors to your website. By "quality visitors" I mean those consumers who are most likely to make a purchase rather than just cruise around your site and take off for greener pastures. In evaluating the effectiveness of keywords, bear in mind three elements: popularity, specificity, and motivation.

Popularity is the easiest to evaluate because it is an objective quality. The more popular your keyword is, the more likely the chances are that it will be typed into a search engine which will then bring up your URL.

You can now purchase software that will rate the popularity of keywords and phrases by giving words a number rating based on real search engine activity. Software such as WordTracker will even suggest variations of your words and phrases. The higher the number this software assigns to a given keyword, the more traffic you can logically expect to be directed to your site. The only fallacy with this concept is the more popular the keyword is, the greater the search engine position you will need to obtain. If you are down at the bottom of the search results, the consumer will probably never scroll down to find you.

Popularity isn't enough to declare a keyword a good choice. You must move on to the next criteria, which is specificity. The more specific your keyword is, the greater the likelihood that the consumer who is ready to purchase your goods or services will find you.

Let's look at a hypothetical example. Imagine that you have obtained popularity rankings for the keyword "automobile companies." However, you company specializes in bodywork only. The keyword "automobile body shops" would rank lower on the popularity scale than "automobile companies," but it would nevertheless serve you much better. Instead of getting a slew of people interested in everything from buying a car to changing their oil filters, you will get only those consumers with trashed front ends or crumpled fenders being directed to your site. In other words, consumers ready to buy your services are the ones who will immediately find you. Not only that, but the greater the specificity of your keyword is, the less competition you will face.

The third factor is consumer motivation. Once again, this requires putting yourself inside the mind of the customer rather than the seller to figure out what motivation prompts a person looking for a service or product to type in a particular word or phrase. Let's look at another example, such as a consumer who is searching for a job as an IT manager in a new city. If you have to choose between "Seattle job listings" and "Seattle IT recruiters" which do you think will benefit the consumer more? If you were looking for this type of specific job, which keyword would you type in? The second one, of course! Using the second keyword targets people who have decided on their career, have the necessary experience, and are ready to enlist you as their recruiter, rather than someone just out of school who is casually trying to figure out what to do with his or her life in between beer parties. You want to find people who are ready to act or make a purchase, and this requires subtle tinkering of your keywords until your find the most specific and directly targeted phrases to bring the most motivated traffic to you site.

Once you have chosen your keywords, your work is not done. You must continually evaluate performance across a variety of search engines, bearing in mind that times and trends change, as does popular lingo. You cannot rely on your log traffic analysis alone because it will not tell you how many of your visitors actually made a purchase.

Luckily, some new tools have been invented to help you judge the effectiveness of your keywords in individual search engines. There is now software available that analyzes consumer behavior in relation to consumer traffic. This allows you to discern which keywords are bringing you the most valuable customers.

This is an essential concept: numbers alone do not make a good keyword; profits per visitor do. You need to find keywords that direct consumers to your site who actually buy your product, fill out your forms, or download your product. This is the most important factor in evaluating the efficacy of a keyword or phrase, and should be the sword you wield when discarding and replacing ineffective or inefficient keywords with keywords that bring in better profits.

Ongoing analysis of tested keywords is the formula for search engine success. This may sound like a lot of work - and it is! But the amount of informed effort you put into.
